The Product and Conversations around It

Two blog entries today converged for me. First, Will Richardson wrote about an idea he shared in a presentation: "I tried to move the concept of what we can do now into the realm of building sustained, trusted, relevant, safe learning communities and networks in which the products nurture the conversation and the learning. That creating and sharing a movie or a podcast or blog post is important, but it is the connections we make around those artifacts, the discussions and interactions that surround them from the community where the most powerful learning takes place. It’s where the “meta” stuff happens, where the true potential lies."

Then I clicked on Everyday Literacies from Colin Lankshear and Michele Knobel and viewed their music video, which I think is a really accomplished product. But what if we take up Will's challenge and see what kind of conversations we might generate around it? What would those conversations look like? Sound like? Where would they take us? I'm intrigued.
