Participatory Media
The proliferation of social networking sites, blogs (both print and video), wikis, and so on--participatory media--are changing our view of the world. What we know is shaped by how we know it--that's always been the case--but it is also true that new forms of media can displace or replace older forms. Look at newspapers, for example. If you're interested in what's happening and what may happen, try the participatory media literacy site. I recommend the link to a chapter on participatory media as a place to start exploring. You may end up with more questions than answers, which may or may not be a good thing.
