Making Teaching Public--Visually

Two high school English teachers and their classes are featured in this set of videos that both present teaching and question how teaching can best be represented with multiple media. The Making Teaching Public project raises questions we need to consider: What aspects of teaching and learning can best be represented using multimedia? How can those aspects be represented with multimedia most effectively? How can multimedia representations of teaching and learning be used to support teachers’ development?

I might add, in the context of the graduate class that inspired this blog, "What are the multiliteracies of teaching and representing teaching?" If we use James Gee's definition of literacy as the ability to recognize and create meanings in a semiotic domain and we consider teaching English as a semiotic domain, then what do teachers need to know and how can they best learn what they need to know and be able to do?
